Get Involved:

Students Against Cruelty to Animals (SACA) is a student-run animal rights organization at the University of Texas at Austin. SACA educates the University and Austin community of the consequences of using animals for food, clothing, entertainment and experimentation. We work through public educaton, research, special events, direct action and grassroots organizing. Through our efforts we aim to defend the rights of non-human animals by asserting the rights and power of students.

KFC Protest February 2008

Help us table!
We always need help tabling on the West Mall during the week. We currently table from 10:00am until around 1:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. If you can stop by to help out for an hour or so, e-mail SACA at UTSACA@gmail.com

Meeting times for Spring 2008:

The best way to get involved with SACA is to attend one of our meetings. You can learn more about our campaigns, take an active role in our efforts and meet animal-friendly people. We plan our actions as a collective, so if there is an issue you feel needs to be addressed, bring it up and we'll do something about it.
All meetings are at 7 pm in Benedict, Room 1.102 (in the "6-pack").

If you can't make the meetings, make sure you are on the SACA low-frequency listserv for regular updates on meetings, protests, speakers, films, potlucks and other events.

Also, email us if you would like free copies of any of our literature. Pass them out to other students in class, drop some off at the Union, or slide them into newspaper vending machines. You never know who will read that information and decide to make a change for themselves and for the animals.

Email UTSACA@gmail.com if you have any questions.
